NEWSLETTER
Effective communication between the school and parents
is regarded as very important. A school newsletter is
distributed each Thursday to every family via the
youngest child.
These newsletters contain information relating to the
schools management, curriculum changes, staff changes,
children's work, sports reports, Parent activities,
School Council matters, safety issues and requests for
assistance, etc. Also, from time to time, we include
information regarding Holiday Programs, professional
development activities for parents, extra curricular
tuition programs (music classes) and promotional
material from Neighbourhood Watch, Neighbourhood
House/s, City Council and some commercial enterprises,
which have a direct benefit to the school.
Special
Notices for specific matters are sent home as necessary.
Please remember to check your child's school bag daily.

interviews with teachers are available at any time,
subject to a mutually acceptable time being arranged,

interview may be with the Principal or Assistant
Principal rather than with the class teacher- the same
procedure is used to organise these. All interviews are
to be booked through the office.

Early in the year parents will be invited to an
information evening where teachers will outline the
teaching/learning program for children in their grade.
We encourage parents to attend these evenings to gain a
better understanding of what will happen in your child's
classroom during the year. This is a great opportunity
to meet your child’s class teacher, discuss
general issues including homework and helping your child
at home and school.
Interviews are held for all children at the beginning of
the year and also at mid year.
The initial interview at
the beginning of the year is an opportunity for you to
inform your child’s teacher of any significant concerns
you may have.
At the mid year interview
the class teacher will discuss your child's
progress. Written reports will be sent home mid year
and at the end of the year.
Informal interviews with
teachers are available at any time, subject to a
mutually acceptable time being arranged, where the
teacher can be released from the grade to speak with
you. These are "Incidental Optional Interviews" and can
be arranged by the parents or by the teachers. There may
be times that the request for an interview may be with
the Principal or Assistant Principal rather than with
the class teacher- the same procedure is used to
organise these. All interviews are to be booked through
the office
Teachers maintain an
evaluation folder/ profile, which is a record of your
child's progress and is retained at the school
throughout the primary school years.
The school has access to
support staff, such as curriculum consultants and an
educational psychologists through the Whitehorse Cluster
of Schools.

School Fees
School Council recommends that
all parents pay the difference between the Core
Allowance per child provided by the State Government and
the cost of materials and requisites.
A notice about the educational contributions will be
forwarded to you during December notifying you about the
requirements for the following year, and the
corresponding form of payment. A reminder notice of late
fees will be sent out second term.
The 2009 school fee is $300.00
for the first child and $150.00 for each subsequent
child in a family.
