Parent Involvement

This is your school and
you are welcome here at any time. There are many
opportunities for you to contribute to the school and
your participation is encouraged and appreciated.
Research has shown that
parental participation in school activities not only
benefits the school but also improves the performance
and attitudes of the children of those parents.

Cake
Roster
Each
week at the Friday assembly we raffle cakes baked by our
school community to raise money to go to school
resources.

We would
love to hear from new bakers willing to donate their
fare.
LAST YEAR WE RAISED IN EXCESS
OF $2500 and it’s all thanks to the School
Community. Keep up the good work in 2009. Roster is on
display this Friday at assembly and yes there will be a
cake raffle.
Thanks again for your
continuing support

Morning
Coffee
Following Friday morning
assembly, parents and friends of Kerrimuir are invited
to meet in the multi-purpose room for coffee and a chat.

School
Council
The
Council at Kerrimuir Primary School takes an active and
enthusiastic role in all aspects of school policy
development. The educational partnership between parents
and teachers in determining the school's policy is
fostered at this school. School Councillors are
available to discuss any areas of interest or concern to
parents.
The School Council at
Kerrimuir is comprised of eight persons elected by
parents, four staff members elected by staff, and the
Principal. There is provision for the Council to co-opt
a further two members from within the school community.
Meetings are held monthly.
Council elections are held annually, but terms of office
are for two years. The Annual General Meeting is
normally held prior to 31 March. Council welcomes parent
interest through:
-
attending meetings
-
personally contacting a
school councillor
-
corresponding with the
School Council Secretary
-
attending sub committee
meetings
-
attending school working
bees
